Students ‘Float, Sink or Swim’ During Homecoming Weekend

Float, Sink or Swim is a Simpson Homecoming tradition where campus organizations compete for the fastest lap time, using boats made of only cardboard and duct tape.

This year, Greek houses and residence halls raced their duct tape-covered boats while others students cheered in support of this favorite homecoming activity.

Students “Yell Like Hell” for Storm Athletics

Each year, homecoming week at Simpson brings fun, football and friendly competitions. Simpson College organizations and student groups came together to cheer on the Storm at the highlight of the week each year, Yell Like Hell pep rally.

Participants included Greek chapters Delta Delta Delta, Lambda Chi Alpha, Pi Beta Phi, Kappa Kappa Gamma and Sigma Alpha Epsilon, along with the Simpson Volleyball Team, Cheer/Dance Squads, Broke Fi Broke and other students who made up dance routines to show their Storm pride.

Simpson sororities host events for charity

The women of Pi Beta Phi and Kappa Kappa Gamma each held an event to raise money for charity. Pi Beta Phi held the Arrowspike Volleyball Tournament, where all proceeds went to the First Book charity. Kappa Kappa Gamma held a car wash and sent their earnings to Reading is Fundamental.
